britain before 11:00 am, was to be devoted to hearing additional witnesses and conclude, in all likelihood, by the deliberate setting of the trial, as is most often the case in such cases. Taking place in the courtroom, Julian Assange, in blue suit, white shirt and red tie, greeted his supporters massed in the public gallery.

On Monday, lawyers Assange, who always denied the accusations of sexual abuse made against him by two young Swedes, challenged the legality of the extradition request by Sweden and questioned the Qualification of rape used by the justice of this country.
KEYSTONE They also highlighted the "real risk" that once extradited to Sweden, Australia, aged 39, is sent to the U.S. to be "detained at Guantanamo Bay" or "sentenced to death "in violation of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Conspiracy?

This case is independent of the disclosure for several months by Wikileaks tens of thousands of official documents that have embarrassed many governments. Supporters of Assange nonetheless consider that this is a conspiracy to silence the founder site.

The hearing, attended by many international journalists, is the fifth since the arrest of an Australian in early December in London, but without doubt the most important.

If British justice decides to go ahead with the extradition, however Assange has many appeals. He could then have several more months in the opulent villa loaned by a friend in the English countryside, where he was placed under house arrest in mid-December.
